Wawanesa Insurance is providing the Trico Centre for Family Wellness with a $10,000 donation for its Trico Cares program. The Trico Cares program offers financial assistance with admission and membership fees, allowing its patrons to enjoy full access to the entire facility, including the fitness centre, both arenas, the aquatics centre, and the gymnasium, as well as subsidized entry fees to children’s programs and camps.
Wawanesa’s generous program donation – the largest individual donation ever made to Trico Centre for this specific purpose – will complement other fee assistance partnerships the facility currently maintains with organizations such as the City of Calgary, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, KidSport, and Kids Up Front, as well as special needs and senior programming.
As a mutual company, Wawanesa is committed to having a positive impact in the communities it serves. Recently Wawanesa celebrated its 125th anniversary by donating $700,000 to various organizations in Canada and the United States to help communities grow stronger and more resilient. That was in addition to the $3.5 million Wawanesa committed to its community partners in 2021.
