Out of School Care

Trico Centre offers a licensed Out of School Care program for children in Grades 1 to 6, providing a safe, enriching environment where fun and learning go hand in hand. Please be advised that our program does not currently offer care for kindergarten-aged children, nor do we provide drop-in care services.

Our program warmly welcomes students from these schools: David Thompson, FFCA Southeast Elementary, FFCA Southeast Middle School, Maple Ridge, Sam Livingston and RT Alderman. To make your day even easier, we provide safe and reliable transportation on the Trico Centre bus — making the trip to and from our program smooth and stress-free.

We’re excited to have your child join the fun and learning with friends from their school community!

Our program features:

Age-Appropriate Spaces & Activities: Children are grouped by grade and school, with access to a variety of engaging spaces designed to meet their unique developmental needs.
Daily Physical Activity: We prioritize movement every day, helping children build their physical literacy and fundamental movement skills through fun, active play.
Creative & Curious Minds: Daily craft, drama, and STEM stations encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking.
Exciting Field Trips: With our very own 72-passenger bus, we regularly venture out to explore the amazing communities and attractions our city has to offer.
Full Access to Trico Centre: From swimming and skating to gym time and more, children enjoy all the perks of our recreation facility as part of their daily experience.

If a space becomes available for your child, we will contact you directly. Please see below for information on how to add your child(ren) to our waitlist.

For families with children on the 2027/2028 waitlist, we will begin contacting you at the beginning of March 2027 if a space becomes available for your child.

How the Waitlist Works

Our program operates at full capacity (150 children) and uses age-based groups/grades.
Openings depend on which age group/grade has space — not all groups open each year.
Current families re‑register first.
In March, we contact waitlisted families whose child’s age and group/grade match an available space.
Wait times vary by age group/grade.

If you wish to add your child(ren) to the Trico Out of School Care waitlist, please email us at outofschoolcare@tricocentre.ca or complete the waitlist form on this page. Please remember to include the year you would like your child considered for. We are happy to assist you.

If a space becomes available, we will contact families on our waitlist.

Upon registration each year parents must provide a credit card number or complete a pre-authorized debit form with a void cheque. All payments will be withdrawn on the first of each month.
