Trico Centre is excited to pilot the first-ever blended in-person and online Bronze Cross Blended course through the Lifesaving Society Alberta! The course will be 14 hours in person with an additional eight hours of online at-home course work. We have allowed for two extra course hours to ensure optimal learning as we pilot the program. This course takes place on March 26th and 27th.
Bronze Cross begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as assistant lifeguards. Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for advanced training in the Society’s National Lifeguard and leadership certification programs.
Prerequisite(s): Bronze Medallion (need not be current), CURRENT CPR-C & Standard First Aid. Participants must complete the online portion of this course PRIOR to the in-person sessions (March 21st – 25th). For more information or to register, just click here.
