Class Descriptions

PRINTABLE PDF – CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

What should I expect from each class?
Trico Centre offers a wide range of classes suitable for ages 12-99 and span all fitness and levels. Understanding what each class will be designed for will help you and fellow participants get the most out of your experience. Selecting classes in your desired intensity range will keep the “group” together in group exercise. Pick class components that match your goals and objectives for the day, month or year.

Intensity Rating:
Intensity is not the same as difficulty. Don’t believe us? Try sitting and meditating for 60 min and tell us that it’s not difficult. Instead, intensity reflects relative loads and/or how vigorous a class is typically delivered and is always a range. Participants should aim to reach the indicated exertion levels.

Class Components: What can I expect to do in each class?

Expect lots of cardio-vascular drills and intervals
Moderate amounts of cardio-vascular drills and intervals
Some cardio-vascular drills and intervals
Expect lots of strength training and weightlifting

To foster the best possible experience for you and others, please remember the following etiquette:

  • Listen to the instructor for important safety information at the start of every class.
  • Please arrive on time as it’s disruptive to other participants and the instructor when you arrive late. The door for Yoga classes closes and locks at the start of class. After the grounding sequence, you may enter the studio.
  • All classes are self-paced, which means that you determine the intensity that is best for you. It’s easy; just listen to your body; exercise according to your fitness level.
  • Respect the instructor and other participants. Limit side conversations with others.
  • If an exercise needs modification due to injury, limitations, or experience; just ask the instructor.

Group Class Reservation Policy

REGISTRATION WINDOW: The registration window for ALL classes (regardless of start time) will open at noon, 5 days prior to class. This makes it a standard (memorable) time for every class and doesn’t penalize people busy in a class to get into a future one.

GUEST SERVICES CHECK-IN: Please continue to verbally check-in with Guest Services for all Group Fitness Classes. Our scanner is not connected to the class bookings and scanning does not constitute a “check-in”. If you have not checked in 10 minutes before class, drop-ins will be admitted in your absence.

STUDIO #4 CHECK-IN: we will be re-implementing a card system. Upon Guest Services check-in, please obtain a card to hand to your Mind/Body instructor before class begins. This is to better control who has paid for admissions and who has not.

NO SHOW POLICY: Members will lose their pre-booking privileges for 3 no-shows in a 3-month period.

CANCELLATION WINDOW: The cancellation deadline is changing from 2 hours before class to 6 hours before class.
For example, you must cancel your spot in a 4:45pm class before 10:45am. This is to assist movement of other members off the waitlist and into classes.

STUDIO ACCESS: Studio access will be limited to 15 minutes prior to class for all classes. As the facility is getting busier, we need to secure our spaces and equipment better.

We heavily discourage any reserving “your spot” or “your bike.” The new year brings lots of new members and participants and creating a welcoming environment for our community helps everybody.

STUDIO #4 SET UP (Mind/Body): There will be markers on the floor. Please align your mats so the top centre (short edge) of your mat is on a marker. This will help facilitate more people comfortably into classes, as we ramp back up to full capacity.
