The first question on everyone’s mind is probably this: what is gaga ball?
Gaga ball is a fast-paced form of dodge ball that is played in an octagonal pit. Ideal for a group of 15-20 young competitors, players are eliminated when they are hit by the ball below the waist. The ball is constantly in motion, and each game usually only lasts a few minutes, settled when there is just one player left in the gaga pit.
The game is growing in popularity, and this summer Trico Centre built its own outdoor gaga ball pit. Timbertown Building Materials generously donated the materials for the pit, and after its completion, Timbertown general manager Tim Snell modestly said, “We’re happy to know the kids, and maybe some adults too, will get to use it and get outdoors.” The gaga ball pit was very full over the last two months, used throughout the day by young and energetic Trico Centre summer day campers. It is located on the east side of the building, where it will be enjoyed by young players for years to come.
