Skating Lessons

Trico Centre offers our very own Learn to Skate program for ages 2yrs – Adult located on one of our NHL size arenas (Arena #1). Our popular 6-level children’s programming is dedicated to creating life-long enjoyment of skating, while building confidence, safety, and fun while out on the ice. Each level focuses on the natural progression of learning to skate in a non-competitive environment. Report cards are issued on the last day of lessons, and advancement recommendations are based both on skill ability, and child confidence and comfort while on the ice.

Specialty Skating

Provided by Golden Edge Skating Academy, a Skate Canada sanctioned skating school delivering high quality and accessible programs. Trico Centre is proud to offer Power Skating for 3-17 years olds and Learn to Figure Skate for 5-18+ year olds.

Leisure Skating

Family
Enjoy public skating on our NHL sized arena – affordable pricing (only $15 for a family of 4!).
All ages activity. No sticks or pucks allowed. Helmets are mandatory for anyone under 12 years old and highly recommended for all ages. No strollers or chairs permitted. Skate assists permitted, but not supplied. *sorry, we don’t have any on site skate and helmet rentals.

Senior
Designed for the 60+ year skater to enjoy a leisure skate in calmer and quieter environment than a traditional family skate. Helmets highly recommended. We highly recommend using a ski or hockey helmet over a bike helmet, since they are not made for ice. No sticks, pucks, chairs, or strollers permitted. Everyone on the ice must be in skates. Skater assists are not available. Teaching private lessons is not allowed. Maximum 30 skaters per session.

Stick and Puck (Adult, Family & Parent & Tot)

Practice passing, shooting and puck control in a casual environment! Scrimmages, goalies, formal instruction, pylons and related objects, are NOT permitted. MUST use and provide your own hockey helmet, skates, puck/ring(s), stick, and gloves.

Shinny/Casual Hockey

Participate in a game of pick-up hockey, or what most of us refer to as shinny. Goalies, you play free of charge! All Casual Hockey players must be 16+ years old–no exceptions. Full gear is mandatory and bring your own pucks.

Figure Skating

Not affiliated with Skate Canada, figure skaters can enjoy an additional ice time to practice skills, jumps, and spins. This is not an ice time for beginner skaters. Skaters must be at least 9 years old and any skater under 14 years must have adult supervision in the arena at all times.
