Trico Centre for Family Wellness is proud to announce that this year’s Discover YYC program is sponsored by The City of Calgary. Calgary Transit will be providing complimentary regular CTrain and bus services to campers, volunteers, and leaders of the Discover YYC summer day camps taking place this summer.
Trico Centre will be running two week-long Discover YYC camps this July and August, where children ages 11-14 will learn how to take the bus and CTtrain around Calgary while discovering local attractions, parks, and community services. Some of this year’s destinations include the Calgary Tower, the Calgary Central Library, and the Scotiabank Saddledome. The children will also meet with and learn more about Calgary Transit, as well as geocaching all across the city. Trico Centre camp coordinators will also conduct surveys among the camp attendees and their parents to gather feedback on public transit use.
The City of Calgary’s participation in the Discover YYC program will enable Trico Centre to learn more about Calgary Transit, and visit both downtown and other outlying neighbourhoods with the city. As a not-for-profit facility, Trico Centre is very happy and eager to build strong partnerships with other local business and organizations that will help our community’s physical, mental, emotional, and social health.
