FACILITY CODE OF CONDUCT
Trico Centre for Family Wellness is a family-friendly facility. Please abide by the Facility Code of Conduct so the facility can be enjoyed by all.
- Please show kindness and respect in your words and actions towards patrons, employees, volunteers, and visitors.
- Keep children supervised at all times while in the facility and prioritize safety by following posted guidelines, staff instructions, and facility policies.
- Anyone under the influence and/or in possession of drugs or alcohol will be refused entry or be removed from the premises.
- Excessive noise is not permitted.
- Shooting of pucks, balls, or other objects in the facility common areas or change rooms is prohibited.
- Climbing on walls, railings, and play structures is dangerous and not permitted.
- Warm-ups (i.e. running, stair climbing, or calisthenics) in the lobby area, hallway, ramps, or stairs are not permitted.
- Heelys, rollerblades, wheel skate guards, skate boards, and scooters are not allowed in the facility.
- Pets are not permitted in the facility. Service animals are welcomed.
- Please use garbage and recycling receptacles located in all common areas.
- Unauthorized sales or distribution of food, beverages, goods, or services is prohibited.
- Trico Centre is not responsible or liable for personal injury, lost or stolen items, nor damage to personal property.
Fitness Centre Etiquette
We want you to have the best experience here at Trico Centre! Together, we can contribute to a safe, clean and fun environment.
Respect Others
• Clean equipment before and after use
• Share equipment- let others “work in” between sets. If waiting, ask to “work in”
• Return equipment to its proper location (plates, free weights, mats and accessory equipment)
• Limit photos and videos, ensure others are not in your background and no tripods. We recommend using the selfie station in the back corner.
• Limit phone use. Other people may be waiting for your equipment
• No perfumes, cologne or other strong scents
• Help others if they need assistance
Respect Spaces
• Follow Olympic Platform Rules
• Don’t drop free weights. Control your lifts at all times
• Wear proper workout attire (no jeans)
• Wear indoor shoes only
• No food or drink, other than water
• This is a family facility. Excessive grunting and swearing during lifts is not appropriate.
Protect Self
• No horseplay, unruly or disruptive behaviour
• Bring your own towel
• Wear proper shoes (Closed toed shoes required)
• Ask a Fitness Monitor for assistance (advice, exercises, spotting, etc)
• Leave valuables at home or use the wallet lockers located beside Guest Services
Youth Safety
• Children under 9 are not permitted in the Fitness Centre
• Youth 9-14 must complete a Youth Orientation.
o 9–11-year-olds receive a body weight/functional circuit and can access the cardio
o 12–14-year-olds complete a selectorized circuit and can access the cardio

Gymnasium Usage Policy
To provide a clean and safe gymnasium for all to enjoy, the following rules are enforced:
- Water is permitted in non-breakable containers.
- No food, open drinks, or gum permitted in the gymnasium.
- No outdoor footwear. Clean, non-marking, athletic shoes only.
- Strollers are not permitted. Parking is available behind Guest Services.
- Keep children safe and supervised at all times.
- Please treat all patrons, staff, facilities, and equipment with respect.
Pool Usage Policy
To provide a clean and safe aquatic environment for all to enjoy, the following rules are enforced:
- All children under the age of 8 yrs. Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (16 yrs. or older) within arm’s reach at all times while in the pool area.
- Each bather must take a cleansing, head-to-toe shower with soap, including hair, prior to entering the pool.
- Remove outdoor footwear before entering the pool area.
- No running or diving allowed in pool area.
- Young children and anyone incontinent must wear protective, water resistant swimwear ibn order to minimize the introduction of a contamination.
- No food, drinks, or glass products are allowed in pool area.
- Please refrain from foul language and rough play.
- Any person may be required to complete a facility swim test at the lifeguard’s discretion.
- Report any medical conditions to the lifeguard immediately.
- Those under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants or with a communicable disease or infection will be asked to leave the facility.
- Spitting, urinating, or polluting the water is not permitted.
- For your safety, lifeguards have complete authority to enforce all applicable rules. Any person not obeying the rules may have privileges taken away or be asked to leave.

Arena Usage Policy
Please adhere to the following guidelines to make your visit with us a safe and enjoyable experience.
- The use of CSA-approved helmet is strongly recommended for all arena participants.
- For all hockey, shinny, ringette, and any other hockey-related activities, participants must wear required gear including a CSA-approved helmet.
- Warm-ups (i.e. running, stair climbing, or calisthenics) in the lobby area, hallway, ramps, or stairs are not permitted.
- Food or drinks (other than water) are not permitted on the ice.
- Use only your permitted time.
- When the horn sounds, your ice time is over. All participants must vacate immediately.
- Wait until the ice resurfacer has left ice and the gate is closed before proceeding onto the ice.
- Profanity or inappropriate behaviour is not permitted.
- Report all incidents or accidents to the Duty Manager or Building Operator immediately.
- If the fire alarm sounds, stop activity and be prepared to evacuate. Listen for instructions from the Duty Manager or Building Operator.
- No strollers, wagons, or baby carriers are permitted on the ice.
