Camp FAQS

What should my child bring?

  • Nut-free lunch (Full day camps)
  • Nut-free snack (Half day camps)
  • Labelled water bottle
  • Sunscreen and bug spray
  • Change of clothes and socks in a re-useable bag

What should my child leave at home?

  • Crocs
  • Heeleys
  • Flip-flops
  • Toys
  • Games
  • Electronics

What time do your camps run?

  • Preschool Camps run weekly and are half days. (9:00am-12:00pm) or (1:00-4:00pm)
  • Child and Youth Camps run weekly and are full days. (9:00am-4:00pm)

Are Lunches or Snacks Provided?

Lunches and snacks are not provided. The caregiver must ensure their little campers bring a nut-free lunch and snacks to camp.

My child lost an item at camp, what do I do?

  • Throughout the week, items will be placed in a labelled lost and found bin located outside Multi-Purpose Room 7 and 8.
  • On Friday’s, a lost and found table will be set up at the check-in/checkout table.
  • Trico Centre is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items so we recommend children not bring beloved belongings to camp

What should my child wear to camp?

  • Children must be in comfortable clothing that they can easily move around in.
  • Running shoes with socks or strapped sandals
  • Sun hat with sun protection and bug spray
  • Weather appropriate outerwear (rain or sunshine)

Does my child have to be potty trained?

Yes. All campers must be fully potty trained by the start of camp (diapers and pull-ups are not permitted).

What is the camp leader to camper ratio?

  • We have 1 leader to every 8 campers for Preschool Camps
  • We have 1 leader to every 15 campers for Child and Youth Camps

Do Preschool camps leave Trico Centre's grounds?

Preschool campers always remain on Trico Centre property.

My child has an aide. Can they attend camp?

Aides are always welcome! If you have arranged Aide Support, please email dcinclusion@tricocentre.ca one week prior. That way our Leaders know what to expect (name of Aide, support they will be providing) and we can welcome them upon arrival.
