TRICO CENTRE COVID-19 FAQ'S

Do I need to wear a mask in your facility?

Yes, in accordance with the City of Calgary's temporary Bylaw 26M2020: "All persons must wear a face covering in indoor public premises..."
Masks must be worn up until the point of physical activity. For more information, please visit the City of Calgary's Bylaw page.

Why are parts of the facility closed?

The Mayor of Calgary announced on March 15, 2020 that the City was ordering a local state of emergency and that all City of Calgary and Civic Partner recreation centres were to close at March 16th, 2020 at 12:01am to help limit the spread of COVID-19. This was followed by a Provincial Declaration of Emergency on March 17, 2020, and subsequent provincial closure order for all recreational facilities, that remains in force now.

What is happening with my Trico Centre Membership?

Membership fees will commence August 1, 2020 - pauses must be completed prior to July 27th, 2020.  Child memberships will remain on hold at this time.

What is happening with my Kids Korner Continuous Membership?

It is Trico Centre’s primary concern to provide a healthy and safe experience for all staff, members, and visitors to the facility. To do this, we have been moving forward with a reopening in full compliance with all Alberta Health Standards (AHS) protocols, and, exceeding them where possible, to the best of our ability.

According to AHS regulations we are able to reopen all facility areas; however, we do not feel that we would be able to maintain safety and health protocols within Kids Korner childcare. Our spaces are small, our staffing limited, and the nature of caring for small children while maintaining distancing and cleaning protocols is too difficult to manage in our facility. There is too great a risk to our Kids Korner staff, the children involved, their families, and by extension, our other staff and visitors to reopen at this time. It is our intention to re-open Kids Korner in the spring or fall of 2021, depending on the status of Covid and how we feel we can manage operations.

Trico Centre Annual Memberships, 10-Visit Passes, & Personal Training Packages

10 Visit Passholders access will begin August 1st, 2020, all 10 passes will be non-transferable.

Effective March 16, 2020, your pass will be paused and the expiration will be extended.

What is your policy on refunds for canceled programs and bookings?

All day camps and programs are canceled through to August 31, 2020.  As our Guest Services staff return to work we will begin the refund and credit process for all programs, rentals, day camps and classes that have been canceled due to Covid-19. As part of this process we will be contacting every one who is affected starting the last week of July. Thank you for your patience as we get back on our feet.

Will Kids Korner and Out of School Care still be open?

OSC Program - Now Open
For more information please visit our Out of School Care page or contact : outofschoolcare@tricocentre.ca

Kids Korner: Open date TBD

At this time, all child related programming must be divided into designated cohorts. Under the AHS guidelines cohorts are required to stay together for a designated time frame and therefore having a daily drop-in style program is not possible.
