Gentle Fit 55+

Iron Ride

9:30am to 10:30am

Ride from the shoreline to the hills in this journey designed to provide you with both optimum fat burning and strength building.  This ride will simulate varied terrain as you tackle rolling hills, sprints and other drills to give you a great interval workout.  Suitable for beginners as well as seasoned cyclists!

Baby & You Barre (Registered)

10:15am to 11:00am

This class focuses on posture, core strength and flexibility, and is inspired by a blend of dance, strength training and yoga. This class uses the barre, along with resistance bands, light weights and bender balls. The results? A long, lean, strong body. Pre-mobile babies recommended. Yoga for Balance & Stability

10:30am to 11:30am

Location: Mind/Body Studio

Improve balance, strength, control and proprioception (the subtle sense of the body’s position in space) as you move through poses designed to tone and lengthen musculature and build a stronger core. Afterwards, gently release and unwind with a series of restful poses.  Please bring your own yoga mat.  Some props (no bolsters) will be provided.  Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class begins as doors will be locked promptly at 10:30am.

Deep Water Workout (DWW)

12:30pm to 1:30pm

Suitable for all levels, this class provides a vigorous workout designed to keep your heart pumping and a smile on your face!  A variety of techniques, including muscle conditioning and steady state as well as interval training will be used to improve your endurance and strengthen your core.

Youth Orientation 2

12:30pm to 1:30pm

The Youth Orientations aim to teach pre-teens and teens about the correct etiquette, forms, postures, exercises and loads to safely and effectively use the Fitness Centre.

Youth Orientation 1: Youth age 9-11 yrs will have access to the Fitness Centre within arm’s reach of a parent upon the completion of Youth Orientation 1. Participants learn how to use size appropriate cardio equipment and perform some strength exercises primarily focused on body weight movements. One parent is required to take the YO1 with the youth.

Youth Orientation 2: Youth age 12-14 yrs has access to the Fitness Centre completion of Youth Orientation 2. All cardio equipment becomes available, and a basic workout program is introduced focusing on primary movement patterns and foundational strength. Machine weights, light free weights and functional equipment are covered.

Chair Yoga (Registered)

Have you hesitated to try yoga because it's challenging to get down onto the floor? Now a chair becomes your mat. Just about any pose that can be done standing, sitting, or lying on a mat can be adapted to sitting on a chair. Full Throttle

Inspired by CrossFit.  This high intensity class with high impact elements varies its weekly focus between speed, strength and aerobic intervals.  Although taxing, modifications are provided to suit appropriate body mechanics.  Great for anyone!

Vinyasa Yoga

7:00pm to 8:00pm

Strength and flexibility training is accomplished through many different asanas (or poses).  Mind and spirit are calmed through pranayama (or breathing and meditation practices).  Afterwards the body and soul are re-invigorated for the challenges of work, play and life in general. A balanced mix of strength and length with no two classes being the same.
